Shire Patient Services Manager in Vienna, Austria

SUMMARY:

The Patient Service Manager leads and drives excellence in patient support programmes across all business units, working together with all relevant local functions and global/international teams. Responsible for development and successful execution of local solutions, with guidance from global/international teams. Reports to the Country General Manager Austria with dotted-line to the Head of Patient Services I DACH

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess and monitor impact and execution of current patient service offerings, including feedback from service users and stakeholders such as HCPs, Nurses, patient organisations and payers.

  • Develop and implement best-in class patient support programs across all brands in alignment with local (internal/external) stakeholders and the Global Patient Support stakeholders. Assess and monitor local legal and regulatory environment relevant to patient support programs. Work with Compliance, Legal, Regulatory to adhere to obligations.

  • Manage third party patient support providers, ensure quality delivery and manage budget.

  • Create and deliver a plan to expand patient support programmes to cover maximum patients. Develop and track other KPIs associated with patient support.

  • Develop relationships with leading nurses in relevant therapeutic areas. Organise training regarding our disease areas and services.

  • Share best-practices with local and international team.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Medical diploma (nurse, clinical officer, doctor) is preferred, alternatively degree-qualified, preferably in a scientific discipline

  • Experience in pharmaceutical industry (>3 yrs) is required, including intimate knowledge of industry code of conduct and relevant legislation for interaction with patients

  • Experience with the design and implementation of patient support programs is preferred

  • Strong understanding of the patient support environment

  • Proven project management experience

  • Excellence command of written and spoken German and English is required

  • Experience in patient organisations is as asset

  • Patient-centric and service oriented mindset with enthusiasm and drive to succeed

  • Ability to work independently and to drive multiple projects simultaneously and to deliver results

  • A team player with excellent interpersonal skills and proven capability to influence and drive change agendas without formal authority

  • Business acumen and budgeting skills

  • Excellent communicator with strong written and verbal presentation skills
