The Business Analyst will utilize proven high level knowledge of XDM and Energy Portfolio Management The successful candidate will work closely with the BA Team Leader and Global Account Manager to manage all client needs from writing functional specifications, dealing with bugs and prioritizing needs. The job may also entail some pre-sales work, demonstrating the system to potential clients and attending conferences.
• Understand how XDM product fulfil the needs of the business• Research and analysis to develop specific requirements definition• Design and formalization of functional and programming specifications according to established SunGard standards and production of functional specifications for the development group to bridge any gaps in the functionality• Provide on-going consulting and problem solving support for the development effort and use of the new functionality• Develop test planning and participate in internal as well as Client acceptance tests• Conduct analysis and functional design for interfacing with third party applications • Keep abreast of changing business needs and pro-actively arrange development of the products to provide for these changes• Maintain an awareness of industry development and provide assessments of their impact on Client processing and SunGard products• Provide pre-sales support to the Sales Manager and Account Manager in preparing demos of the system to prospective clients (typically global business managers)• Advise the QA/testing teams to ensure your requirements are met
• Be able to demonstrate a high level understanding of Energy Portfolio Management gained in either a front, middle or technology related role• Have experience in writing functional specifications for financial market products• Will be well organized and understand the project management process• Have the ability to effectively communicate product functionality targeted to the needs of our clients• Will be able to quickly and effectively identify and resolve functional issues• Must be a "self-starter" who identifies, resolves and reports on issues in a timely and effective manner• Intermediate RDBMS knowledge of Oracle or SQL Server
• Technical skills: ability to for programming, good understanding of IT• Analytical skills: ability to formulate and solve tasks• Communication skills: ability to explain solutions, train people
