Senior Presales Consultant - Storage Solutions

Job Description:

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Research your customers’ background and their current business strategy.

  • Support Storage Account Plan and ensure country technical plans are complete, updated and executed.

  • Manage and co-ordinate the account technical teams ensuring that the overall storage strategy for the account is understood and aligned.

  • Engage with all key stake holders and business decision makers within the account and build solid mutual relationships.

  • Be seen as a storage expert by the customer and earn trusted advisor status.

  • Based on account knowledge, develop and execute a disruptive strategy aimed at taking competitive share.

  • Ensure consistency of messaging of HPE storage strategy.

  • Prioritize existing pipeline to pull maximum revenue into committed status.

  • Discover latent projects that can now be bought forward via new technology and finance options.

  • Propose new storage propositions to the account ensuring HPE deliver against business drivers, initiatives and goals.

  • Drive and influence new RFP/RFI initiatives from the account.

  • Ensure HPE Innovation is driven into target accounts with New Product Introduction.

  • Share experiences with other team members aligned to all accounts.

  • Maximize the use of HPE’s storage partners as appropriate to win new business.

Customer Centric

  • Be able to converse and build relationships at C level within customers and have experience of talking across the business e.g. to Application Owners, Line of Business managers and Procurement departments, as well as the infrastructure team.

  • Ensure all commitments made to customers are kept.

  • Seek feedback from customers to identify improvements.

  • Stay on top of storage industry practices and new developments to deliver ‘storage value’ to customers.

Education and Experience:

  • University diploma or Bachelor's degree in technicall field of study

  • Typically > 8 years of advanced pre-sales experience.

  • Several years of dedicated storage experience.

  • Acting frequently as customer interface.

  • Skills and Knowledge:

  • Is considered as an expert in knowledge of HPE storage products, solution and service offerings as well as competitor's offerings to be able to design large solutions.

  • Strong knowledge of current storage technologies and familiar with cloud and cloud concepts.

  • Experience with common applications and virtualization platforms.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.

  • Ability to work across a large, highly matrixed organization and collaborate with sales teams across the globe and in shared accounts.

  • Ideally, have existing relationships with key storage and storage management in the regions.

  • English and German language skills to business standard.
