Oracle Communications Global Business Unit (CGBU) represents Oracle in the communications industry. Oracle CGBU is responsible for the development, marketing, sales and delivery of consulting services of Oracle CGBU application and network products and leads Oracle’s strategy in the communications industry. Oracle Communications Consulting (OCC) within Oracle’s CGBU is responsible for consulting and solution delivery for our broad range of solutions for the communications industry.

Member of the regional management team, responsible for a team of senior consulting sales people in multiple geographies across EMEA.

We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated and driven sales professional to lead our Consulting Sales team to identify, create and open up new business opportunities to grow and develop revenues across the EMEA communications market. The role requires high levels of energy and self motivation with a proven track record opening up new business opportunities for similar organizations. Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the EMEA Consulting Sales team

  • Achieving sales objectives by developing and tuning sales quotas for regions, territories and key accounts; active participation in the sales process and customer-facing activities

  • Implements sales programs by developing field sales strategy and action plans; maintains sales volume, product mix, and selling price and margin.

  • Establishes and adjusts commercial propositions by monitoring costs and competition, in full adherence to Oracle’s business practices

  • Collaborates with peers in the management team to develop and complete offerings based on best practices, competences, business needs and available skills.

  • Works with internal partners to approve and deliver commercial propositions, teaming agreements and other 3rd party business development deliverables.

  • Builds and executes partnership arrangements with business partners in the region and on a global basis.

  • Assists sales directors in the preparation and closure of projects and offerings; Involved with client meetings and bid processes.

  • Projecting expected sales volume, margin and profit for existing and new programs.

  • Reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis on the status of sales, deals, staff, operations etc.

  • Maintains sales staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintains sales staff job results by counseling and mentoring employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending conferences and seminars, educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

This role requires extensive travel (70%)

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Manages sales of Oracle consulting services.

Manages, through managers and directors, the activities of Consulting Sales organization in support of achieving sales objectives. Contributes to strategic and tactical planning for the division. Networks and develops strong business relationships. Responsible for coaching, performance management, and career development of staff. Participates in the recruiting process and makes hiring decisions. Manages budget. Manages escalations.

Strong leadership skills. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Industry experience. Able to develop executive level relationships. Strong Oracle product knowledge preferred. BA/BS preferred. 10 years direct sales experience. Experience managing staff. Willing to travel regionally. Assist in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interact across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Able to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations is important. Direct and ensure the implementation of operational policies through subordinate managers. Interact internally and externally with executive management involving negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy. Functional expertise and broad company knowledge.
