As a Genomic Technical Support Scientist you will be a key player in the customer value chain and will become part of the central Genomics Technical Support team. You can decide to be located in France (Les Ulis) or in the Netherlands (Amstelveen).
A high standard of customer satisfaction (based on responsiveness to customer needs), with the ability to set customer expectations and the capability to analyze, develop and document solutions for customer problems are key criteria for success.
As a Genomics Technical Support Scientist you will be working in a complex business environment, in a fast-growing market. Therefore you will need to be able to display strong team-player mentality.
As a Genomic Technical Support Scientist you will solve a broad range of scientific problems of varying scope and complexity. You will closely interact with the field based Application Engineers, Genomics sales force, European Repair Centre, the US Technical Support team, QC, marketing & R&D.;
Provide technical support and advice.
Assist in application and workflow troubleshooting external customers, distributors and Agilent’s internal sales force on our genomics workflow. This includes the cloning portfolio, microarray- , bioinformatics- & target enrichment-products.
Log and manage customer complaints using our tracking database. Manage the escalation process.
Be the Voice of the Customer. Distill, quantify and actively represent customer feedback to Agilent internal teams. Use your “customer perspective” to advocate for the User Experience.
Capture lessons learned. Own the Knowledgebase, FAQs and other knowledge-based tools. Tribal knowledge is documented.
Required Skills and Background:
MS in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry. or equivalent experience in life sciences preferred; BA/BS with 3 years of experience.
Strong analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
Fluent in English and French (any additional language is an advantage)
Outstanding written, verbal communication.
Passion for sharing his/ her scientific knowledge remotely to provide customers with advice on experimental design and troubleshooting.
Highly motivated, well organized, high priority sense, team player, willingness to learn new technologies and applications.
A strong valuation of processes and the ability to follow them accordingly with strong attention to detail.
Desired Skills and Background:
Customer support experience preferred.
Experience in complaint management.
qPCR, cloning, microarray experience desirable.
NGS library preparation and data analysis desirable.
Willing to travel up to 10%.
Clinical research/ Dx experience desirable.
