We fight cancer – and we need you to manage one of our central R&D; teams of approximately 14 people with the responsibility to maintain and enhance our Dako instrument portfolio.

The team is part of Diagnostics and Genomics Group Engineering department and is dedicated to delivering customer focused value-added enhancements to our existing instrument portfolio as well as to securing systematic leverage of customer feedback into instrument and software development initiatives.

The team is responsible for:

  • Be R&Ds; one-point-of-entry for instrument based customer feedback and product care activities

  • Own technical design for all launched instruments platforms

  • Develop Instrument improvements through feature enhancements and corrections founded in structured customer feedback analysis

  • Understand user needs and translate those into useful validation activities

  • Collaboration with development teams responsible for instrument and software design as well as reagent design ensuring that instrument maintenance and improvements are designed optimally

  • Work in projects with colleagues from Product Marketing, Manufacturing, and RA/QA

  • Create and maintain design control documentation

Your responsibilities:

  • Managing a team consisting of engineers, scientists, and laboratory technical personnel

  • Translation of Diagnostic and Genomics Group Strategies into tactics for the team

  • Execution based on agreed objectives, KPI’s and action plans within the DGG Engineering department

  • Clear direction setting of development approach securing the needed product quality and compliance with regulatory requirements for IVD medical devices

  • Securing a continuous improvement mindset in the team applied to development and documentation processes

  • Creating and maintaining a work environment based on open dialogue and empowerment of the team members

  • Working closely with counterparts in Product Marketing, Manufacturing, and RA/QA based in Denmark, US and Malaysia

The position will be located in Glostrup, Denmark. You will report directly to the Global Director, DGG Engineering and be member of the DGG Engineering Leadership Team.


Your qualifications:

  • University degree within Engineering or related scientific discipline (Master’s degree or higher preferred)

  • Minimum 10 years' experience within the medical device industry

  • Minimum 5 years' supervisory experience (i.e. managing direct reports), including hiring, training, coaching and performance management activities

  • Strong knowledge of quality systems; including but not limited to ISO, GxP and FDA

  • Willingness to travel globally

  • Required proficient in the English language, both written and verbal

  • Danish language skills desired, but not mandatory

  • It is important that you are self-motivated, enjoy working in a structured environment, and have the capability of setting a clear direction for your team

It would be an advantage if you have:

  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing a vision and strategy

  • Proven ability to influence cultural change across an organization

  • Demonstrated experience working in a cross-functional environment and proven ability to influence and build consensus among teams

  • Lean, Six Sigma training and/or certification
